Our Leasing Bikes are fully equipped to help your student succeed!
The Bike Barn offers a Leasing Program, designed to provide students and UC affiliates quality bikes outfitted with quality accessories to support access to bicycle transportation at Davis.
We offer an 8 speed Biria Citibike, Step-Thru or Step-Over. All Leasing Bikes come fully equipped with a lock, Reelights, and fenders. Your lease also includes a complimentary Service Plan for maintenance, tune-ups, and adjustments as often as is needed.

If you are interested in reserving a bike, please fill out a Provisional Booking, or stop by our shop during open hours!
Other accessories can be purchased, such as baskets, cargo webs, other lights, bottle cage, etc, to customize your Leasing Bike. After the leasing term is over, you may keep or donate customization accessories.
Leasing Bike FAQs
Can I buy the bike if I really like it?
We don't have a lease to buy system, so you can’t buy the leasing bike after its reservation is done, but we sell this model as a new bike.
Can I renew the lease when my current lease is up?
Yes you can re-lease! We will hold onto the deposit, you’ll just need to drop off the bike for its regular quarterly maintenance. You'll pay the next reservation fee depending on how long you’d like to re-lease for. We’ll update the reservation as well to account for the re-lease.
What happens if the bike is stolen?
If the bike is stolen, the entire $300 security deposit will be kept and used to cover the cost of the bike. The leasing term will end as well.
Can I add accessories to the bike?
Yes! Please purchase or bring which accessories you’d like installed to us. All installations will be done for free after the purchase of an accessory. The accessories will be yours to keep at the end of the term.
Does the security deposit cover the cost of replacement parts?
No. You will have to pay for the cost of the part being replaced. However, all labor for any repair is free. The deposit is intended to cover the bike if it is stolen or the damage to the bike at the end of the lease. The deposit needs to remain at $300 for the duration of the lease for these reasons.
What if I lose the key to my bike?
We have a spare and can order a replacement for you. It is $25 to replace the key. We can also unlock the bike if it is on campus with our spare. We will charge based on the time spent to unlock it.
