There are many advantages to buying a bike from the Bike Barn! We have been experts in campus transportation for over 50 years, allowing us to curate a selection of bikes that hold up to the demands of daily riding and allow you to focus on your education! We offer a wide range of bike models including comfortable cruisers, quick single speeds, practical city bikes, and affordable e-bikes! Our shop is student-run and our friendly mechanics are happy to help you discuss what might work best for you.
Our bicycles are built to the highest standard to ensure day 1 safety and long-term reliability. All of the bikes we sell come pre-registered with the University Bike Index in compliance with campus requirements ($12 value). You can find out more about this program on the Department of Transportation Services website. In addition to these benefits, all new bikes come with a complimentary one-year Elite Service Plan ($175 value) to cover maintenance needs in your first year of bike ownership! This includes unlimited free labor on your bicycle, on-the-spot flat accessory install, same-day flat repair, and half off rental bikes. The one-year Elite Service Plan can be upgraded to multiple years; see the chart at the bottom of this page for more information.
UC Davis staff, students, and faculty can pick up a free helmet and lights (subject to availability) at the Bike Barn through the Helmet Hair Don’t Care and Lit Not Hit programs. Fill out these surveys ahead of time to get your free helmet and your free lights.
So how does our online bike buy work?
Browse our selection of new bikes below and select a model you are interested in. You can compare models or discuss what might be best for you with one of our mechanics when you call to place your order.
Refer to the manufacturer's website (hyperlinked on each item color) for sizing information on the model you are interested in. Bike Barn mechanics can help advise you on an appropriate size, but are not ultimately responsible for fit.

Decide when you would like to pick up your bike. Please note that all orders require at least 2 weeks to prepare and we may have to adjust your preferred pickup time based on product availability and demand.
Be prepared with the following information before you call to place your order:
- Bike model, color, and size
- Desired accessories (lights, lock, fenders, basket, etc)
- Rider name, phone number, and email address
- Payment card information

Accessorize your new bike!
Lights
Reelights are an awesome option for your bike if you like reliability and simplicity. Once installed, these lights are powered by the frictionless rotation of magnets attached to your wheel. They don't need to be charged or event turned on, and they are bolted to your wheels for security. Just let us install them for you and forget about it! Please note: All bikes with disc brakes (electric models and Biria Tantos) are only compatible with the SL 220+ model due to the extended bracket. Reelights are great for being seen on the road, but do not provide the rider with the same forward illumination for riding on dark streets as a rechargeable headlight.
